Essential wedding day photography list

When I pre-meet my couples I ask them to compile a list of no more than 10 photos that they really want taking on the wedding day. The reasoning behind this is that I want to help them avoid a trap that many couples fall into: 6 months after your wedding you don't want to be thinking "Oh, I wish I had a picture of me and... "

To make it easier I’ve made a list for you that I think are the essential group photos. While there is a standard list of photos (see below) there may also be a few additional shots that you would really like. It's important that I know what these are, and make sure you make them a priority by chatting about them in advance. Basically, you want to make sure you avoid thoughts like... "Oh, I wish we had one of my favourite Auntie Ethel." or "we've none of us with the thank you signs"...
Giving me this list well in advance means I can prepare and discuss any issues. Also, its also a great idea to assign a close friend (not a bridesmaid or groomsman who will be in the images), someone who knows all the people on the list and has a big gob (lol!) to work with me on rounding these people up.

So here’s my essential photo list:

• Bride and Groom with bridesmaids/groomsmen
• Bride with bridesmaids/maid of honour
• Groom and groomsmen/bestman
• Entire wedding party
• Bride and Groom with her parents
• Bride and Groom with his parents
• Bride and Groom with both sets of parents
• Bride and Groom with siblings
• Bride and Groom with close family members
• Shots with friends
